The information we collect and how we use it


When you place an order on, iSubscribe needs to know your name, delivery address, credit or debit card number and expiry date, email address and telephone number. This information allows iSubscribe to fulfil your order and notify you of the status of your order. All orders are fulfilled using a third party service provider and iSubscribe will therefore pass on your details to that service provider so that they can deliver or procure delivery of the magazines you have ordered from iSubscribe to you. Those third party service providers have undertaken to us that they will protect that information, will not pass it on, not use it for any other purpose than to deliver your ordered goods to you.


iSubscribe may also ask you to give us optional contact information, for example your mobile number and demographic information like your age.


iSubscribe and its authorised third parties  may, from time to time, send with your ordered magazines, inserts advertising the goods or services of unrelated third party companies. iSubscribe does not pass on your personal data to these third party companies


If you choose to subscribe to Waterstones’ mailing lists in the course of your order with iSubscribe by opting-in (see below).


Waterstones may also use your information for the purpose of providing you with information about any special offers, author signings and other events or features of its website or its shops which it thinks may be of interest to you and for related marketing purposes.


If you elect to subscribe to the Waterstones mailing list, the Waterstones privacy policy, which can be accessed at its website, /privacy-and-cookie-policy/37, will apply for those purposes.


Each of us may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer our websites. Your IP address is also used to help identify you and your details on our databases.


iSubscribe monitors customer traffic on an aggregate basis in order to help it develop and improve  for the benefit of its customers. In order to enhance your use of the website you will be given a session ID which will only last for sixty minutes. Each time you visit the site you will have a different session ID.


By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this Policy. If this Privacy Policy is changed the changes will be posted on this page so that you may be aware of them. You will also be sent an email should any changes be made and you will be given a chance to ask each or both of iSubscribe and Waterstones not to use your information in that way. Because the Internet infrastructure is global, and it is not possible to predict the routes that information sent over the Internet will take, the information you provide may be transferred temporarily via a route which takes it outside the European Economic Area as it passes between you and either or both of us.
